View attachment 763728 View attachment 763726 Someone asked me to post a complete picture of my avatar on a unrelated thread yesterday, so rather than go completely off topic on a thread about quads, I thought it best to put it up here.
It's a 514, 12600 hours & it's a factory front linkage & suspension.So what is it? 514? Front linkage must a later add on?
Hours?
I'll bite. What did you do to the radiator? you'd best tell us because I have all kinds of scenarios going through my head and they are probably worse than what happenedView attachment 763790 View attachment 763788 Ha, yes totally repainted.
Bought coming up three years ago, 1988 model 406 with 4200 hours on at the time.
Totally stripped blasted and repainted with two pack paint, bit of panel beating but overall very tidy for its age.
Mechanically, new radiator ( my fault, don’t ask) and new pistons liners and big end shells over Christmas
Fabricated new hydraulic locking headstock for it (Trima SMS type) to take all our existing implements, and treated myself to a new genuine JCB seat and steering wheel, plus a few other odds and ends, headlights mirrors etc.

That's much less stupid than what I imaginedReally?
Well you know when against your better judgement you think NO, that’s not a good idea, but still go ahead?
The bracket on the top side of the radiator had cracked through and was letting it vibrate.
SO....... I decided to quickly weld it !
Too much “juice” in the Mig, and fired the red hot 1.2 wire straight through about six cores of the radiator
JCB dealer gave me a good discount on new one, as against having a recore.
Lesson learned?
Till next time
Is it very rare I’ve never seen or heard of one?View attachment 763790 View attachment 763788 Ha, yes totally repainted.
