Don't know sorry, I'm from Northern IrelandI think I can remember this combine when it was new is it in the Belsay area?
Lovely original machine.
A neighbour had a Class Europa ? , I think it was . Very similar looking to that , but a bagger only. The engine over the R/H wheel etc. I remember hearing "It has an engine the same as a 65 ". I think it may have been on something like 12.4 x 24s?
The combine was sold for £400 , at a dispersal sale following his death in February 1977.
I've zoomed in as much as possible on laptop and it looks like CJR 7988. Left hand side looks like there is a notch in it (on the last digit) makes it more likely to be an 8 rather than a B. Could be dirt coupled with low quality pictureOh, I looked at it today and thought it said CJR 7988, I thought it was an NI registration
Is the 1390 from Scotland originally by any chance? Some of the great uncles tractors,
1390 mixing slurry
784 and Quicke 3030 loader, bought new. Only loader tractor for 120 cattle.
3070 carting slurry with 1600 gallon tanker
Hard to believe that he's farming 120 cattle and around 200 acres with tractors like these, when other are using big new ones for less work he also has a MF360, MF3095
Perkins 4/270?Lovely sounding engine in it
Don't know sorry, think she has a Scottish plate on herIs the 1390 from Scotland originally by any chance?
Think that's itPerkins 4/270?
Starts first time every time tooI am not sure about that model but The Matador Standard was fitted with either a Ford or (More commonly) a Perkins 4/270 which was a 'modernised' version of The L4 as fitted to The SF and Massey Harris 745 tractor. Agreed about the lovely sound though!
Just curiousDon't know sorry, think she has a Scottish plate on her
Think that's it
Years ago we had 2 Matadors fitted with The 4/270 that we ran for years . They were indeed brilliant starters. Maintenance wise we had to replace 1 water pump on 1 engine and that was that!Starts first time every time too
Remember any with a shell stick on windscreen?Just curious
Local DB /Case dealer used to make grillguards just like that
I tried hard not to look at any that I saw for too longRemember any with a shell stick on windscreen?
You'd need dark glasses on to save your eyesI tried hard not to look at any that I saw for too long
