Inverness where there are 4 or 5 companies I can think of doing ready mix, £96 for c25 was the cheapest I could find for shed founds a couple months back, since then that supplier emailed to say price increase of £4/cube on 1/7/21. Been quoted up to £118 from others. I’m always flexible when I phone and say when suits them to deliver in the hope it gets a better price. Can’t believe some of the prices on here from further south 😳 I managed to buy a pallet of cement at £3.27/bag which I’m pretty chuffed with, hadn’t intended to do much of the floor with the pan mixer but it might have to be done 😖

Laying a new a floor in a house extension, needs about 1m3. Enquired out of interest, a local 'mix as you go' wagon is about £170. Not that off from buying big bag of aggregate, cement and paying the builder to do it with a Bell mixer. The present Mrs C suggests we do it ourselves....

We did whole house here with two bell mixers, used nearly 9 tonnes of concreting sand, did it over two days a room at a time. We had a lot of rooms and nooks and crannies to do and a flood of ready mix would of near on killed us. Liquid screed was just too expensive at the time, we had different levels with ramps as opposed to steps and no one locally could pump it, by now I would guess it would be better priced as companies offer it more.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
