Conor bale wrapper not stopping in the right place

Hi,
Bought a conor bale wrapper out of a sale. Tried it the other day but it won't stop in the correct place, its picking up how many turns its doing and stops after the final turn, but it ends up about quater of a turn out so you have to reverse it back so it will tip.

From looking on youtube, it looks like it doesn't slow down enough on the final turn. So by the time the sensor has picked up where it is, the momentum takes it past where it should stop.

Its also keeping pressure on the cut ram constantly, not sure if the two faults are related.

Anyone got any ideas what could be causing it?

Thanks

It starts off slower for about half a turn and as it comes to the end it slows down for about half a turn. But it doesn't look anywhere near as slow as the ones on youtube do.

In manual mode the slow, forward and reverse is still very fast. Makes it extremely hard to line it up to tip the bale.

It gives the impression that I need to somehow turn the flow down to the parts of the valve block that control the slow forward and reverse.

There is a valve to adjust on end of spool block to slow rotation speed, sounds like it’s spinning to fast. It’s on left end of the spool block, front one adjust for when your swapping from open centre to closed centre hydraulics and back one adjusts table rotation speed

I am not the mechanic but ours did same and the magnet underneath had to be moved. I think it needs the mechanic in the field for a dynamic test to allow for the drag of the film.
Ours still isn’t quite right after setting in the workshop with no bale or film.
I think we found the ops manual on line or Conor emailed it. They are helpful.

I've just tried it again and i don't think its even slowing down when in the slow speed. Or if it is, its not by much. I can hear a different noise when it is supposed to slow down though.

Thats the valve block on it.
I'm thinking its a solenoid not working, just giving it full flow all the time.

I'll contact conor tomorrow see if they can help, and try and get a manual for it.

Just found this on the internet, number 9 and 41 is for the slow speed, so i am thinking either the solenoid is dead or the valve is stuck. I'll take it apart when i get 5 minutes and have a look.

This is a familiar sight in a bad way!
We had a main dealer look at it. Lots of head scratching and after a long time he left. Nothing fixed. Big bill followed which caused some turbulence. Then we changed tack and had the claas act arrive. It’s basic electro hydraulics apparently and had it fixed fairly quickly.
Might be worth calling in the experts with the testing gear to save any more stress😥

Spent a bit more time on it this morning checking things with a multimeter and taking things apart.

The slow solenoid and valve is working when you flick the switch on the control box.

Both solenoids and valves for the cut ram are working, however its still got constant pressure to it causing the tractor to go under load.

As soon as you pull the spool lever on the tractor to supply the wrapper with oil, the cut ram extends and then puts the tractor under load when it can't go any further. It even does this with the control box disconnected, the only way to get it to retract is to reverse the tractor spool so nothing works on the wrapper and flick the cut ram switch and it will retract.

I am starting to think whatever is causing the cut ram to have constant pressure is also supply the hydraulic motor, giving it full flow all the time instead of going through the slow valve.

Forgot to say, if I turn the spool down on the tractor so its only rotating very slowly, and set it away in auto, it will stop by itself in the right place, and the control box also sends power to the slow solenoid/valve on the last turn, but the wrapper doesn't slow down.

So I think the wiring side of it is ok, the control box is reading the sensors and telling it what to do but the wrapper isn't doing it.

FIXED !!

I took the relief valve out of it this morning to see if it was jammed open with something, to find it totally adjusted out, so it was just letting the oil go straight past it. Screwed the adjuster in on the relief valve, so it was now actually working.

Tried it again but now I had to pull the lever in the tractor the opposite way for anything to work, set it away in auto and every thing slowed down and came to a stop in the right place, also the cut ram opened and closed in the correct place rather than just being pressurised all the time. However everything was doing the opposite to what it should have, table rotating the wrong way, when it tried to tip it was trying to lower it, rather than raise it.

Had a look in the manual to find the motor pipes the wrong way around, and the tip pipes the wrong way around. Swapped them over and now its all working great.

Not sure why everything on the valve block was so messed up, but its fixed now.

Thanks again for the help :)
