Not much information on a search. Anyone contract finishing suckled calves or sending theirs for finishing under contract, particularly in the West Country and how well does it work for the parties involved?
Any views or comment from the TFF collective?

Berrystock feeds will contract finish your calves for you. Monthly payments. Worth googling the website and speaking to John.
how well do cattle do there, seen a neighbours cattle before he sent them there and they only grew 1k/day at a cost of over £20/week,then the place took weeks and weeks to get the cattle sold, he said his own cattle did better just on silage and few kg of corn

Didn't know they finished for others, thought they were all their own calves/cattle about the place .

yes were wondering how other farmers cattle did there, think the diet had straw ,palm kernel and wheatfeed in it, and also about half dozen abbatoirs wouldnt take cattle from there

The rations would be similar to the ones they sell, albeit made up with more perishable products such a potato waste that reduces shelf life but comes in cheaper. I believe the issue surrounding abbatoirs was a farm assurance problem. I wouldn't like to say too much on a public forum but what I do know is that it involved third party staff working cattle on a B&B arrangement, NOT anyone employed by Berrystock Feeds. John Bell is as honest and decent as they come.

no his cattle were on the main farm, even though its farm assured the abbatoirs wouldnt take cattle from there a few weeks ago
