Culti press or rexus twin

I haven't had both, but had Cousins Type 28 presses before and on less powerful tractors. Now have a Rexius which is a seriously impressive bit of kit. We put a 6m with a 440hp twin track. (320hp tractor will pull it pretty well, and we have pulled it with a 240hp one.) Whereas the Cousins presses would not really level the ground and achieve an even tilth, meaning often we would need to power-harrow afterwards, the Raptor tines on the Rexius are much more dynamic and carry more soil with them if you want leaving a much more even finish. Press is also very heavy per m and so has a lot of ability to crush clods.

How dare you talk about big tractors on big kit, when I was a lad I pulled a 50ft Dutch harrow in a Dexta at a billion miles an hour and left a finish that was too good. And I came home with more fuel than I set off with!

Rexius Twin has the option of running straight into stubble but leaves a smoother finish. You can't buy a new Cultipress but the Watkins copy is pretty similar. Terratech etc will build to order.
