Making a pig tailed tined cultivator, leg spacing is 15cm and going to use 30 or 45 mm points. Would people recommend 4 rows or do you think 3 would be enough to stop it bunging up When cultivating stubbles.

years ago MF sold in Aussie a 2 bar 4 row grubber forward and rear tines on each bar think 12 inch gaps
a few outfits here used to do a 2 bar grubber with 9 inch rows and one did a 3 row with 7 inch gaps but could block with only having 21 inch between tines per bar 24 inch on 4 rows should work tho
I would have to look there was a write up some were on how to set up tines eather off staggered ie. each one 6 inch to the left or right or to have the 2nd and 4th row. in the centre of the 1st and 3rd row if that makes sence

We made one a few years ago with 3 rows of tines and never had a problem but did put a row of carrier type discs in front which help. Can't remember the clearance between the rows but could easily check or take a few pics for you. you might even want to buy it ??

We went 5 row, couldn’t fit 6. My designer said you want to be able to fit a small conventional bale between the tines to ensure you never block it.
