Cultivator seeder.

I have a 150hp tractor. Grass farm. Reeseding stony ground. Thinking of buying a mintill cultivator to do grass reseeding. Might do some local contracting work , kale, forage rape etc. What are ppl experiences? Should I buy a plough and power harrow? Or should I buy the heavy cultivator with seeder box?

A 3m shortdisc with a seeder on would cover a lot of bases, certainly for seeding brassicas and cover crops, and at considerably lower cost than a direct drill. It would germinate more weeds than DD though.

a tine direct drill can still bring up a few stones but for good draining stoney livestock ground
direct drilling has a lot going for it. and some plants can do the breaking up of harder pans etc when used in break crops between grasses
