Dairy Electricity Contracts

Who is everyone with and which price comparison websites do you use? I do not want anything to do with any companies that use Bionic. Prices I am getting aren't significantly different from last years price. Currently with Scottish Power on one year contract. Prior to that was on a 3 year contract with British Gas Lite. I have only spoken to Love Energy so far but was going to phone NFU.

barstewards are charging me £9 a day standing charge now! British Gas! But they were all the same! Used NFU, but I think it’s just as easy to ring round yourself!
28p day rate and 18p night rate

I wouldn't write off bionic, they got us British Gas Lite contract sorted at a cheaper rate than I could get anywhere direct and it is totally hassle free, had no problems with them.

Be aware that you may have signed up to auto renewal which they will do without much consultation. I signed with someone else to find they had already signed me up. Their commission for getting you to change is significant.

NFU are not very open abou it, but they take commissions from suppliers and it is hidden in the rates they quote. When I found out I wasn't very happy. The whole electricity supply industry is a big stitch up where the SME is screwed.

Lady Muck, have you looked at Tomato, they are trying to buy business at the moment, especially half-hourly metered customers. Their fixed rate is zero (Yes Zero!) and the capacity chage is very low £5.15/kva/day). Unit rates are higher (Day 24.2p/kw Night 16.1p/kw), but it makes saving any kw more worthwhile. Overall we hink Tomato will be around 10% less expensive than British Gas who were offer the next "best" deal. A two year contract with them was very asy to set up and the transfer from British Gas was smooth. Apart, that is, from the subsequent plethora of contradictory computer generated communications from British Gas over the cancellation of our direct debit.

Initially I was a bit worried about the finacial stability of Tomato; but it appears that Tomato have recently received very sighnificant Japanese investment who I believe are looking to use Tomato as a vehicle for pushing their renewables generating and battery storage business.
