Just flicking through the farmer's weekly and noticed a cracking dairy farm for sale in Cumbria, which seems to have been for sale for a few mnths and has been advertised a few years back. Is this a sign that people are reluctant to invest in a volatile industry or are there other issues surrounding the sale ?
If it were for sale round here im sure it would have been snapped up.

As @stablegirl says there must be some issues about this farm otherwise Mr Day would of snapped it up as it’s within reach of his target area.

It’s about 5 mikes off Mr days track of buying it’s abit far from the main roads for transport and it is a wet farm but sayi g that it is a good set up and very well maintained.

Not just everything lol. Mr day is buying his way down the Eden valley which is all predominantly sandy soils. They grow a lot of maize. Up at the farm mentioned forsale it’s would grow a good yield of maize but will need hover crafts to get it off.

The name of the farm suggests lots of Stones and water!!

Looks a good setup though from the photos online. Whats the reason for it being for sale? Is it still a working dairy farm?
Lot of investment over the last 9 years to sell it all.

He went out of milk 6 years ago. Since he has been rearing 500 heifers on contact for a big farm. Which ends in Oct.
His family don’t want to farm so is down sizing.

Not actually noticed many dairy farms for sale this year but I’m guessing there will be plenty available privately. This farm looks excellent value at 1.45m but will be wet.
