£7.50/calf, including adrenacaine, Metacam, sedation and the service itself. No call out. That’s the offer from our vets

What ages?We pay around £4-5/calf, depending on how many our guy does. I provide anasthetic. He is way better than a Vet, as so experienced.
Started using Metacam, which was not the case years ago.
As long as they’re disbuds, not dehornsWhat ages?
Was thinking around £4/calf. I can defiantly do it less than the vet. Need to sit and work it out.
Just thought I’d gauge what interest there would be in such a service first
Thanks
Surely you dont need the sedation for disbudding? ....or are they limos??As long as they’re disbuds, not dehorns
.....as an experiment, next time you need a filling / extraction, try it without anesthetics.......Surely you dont need the sedation for disbudding? ....or are they limos??
Adrenacaine was already listed in the quote....ALONG with sedation!.....as an experiment, next time you need a filling / extraction, try it without anesthetics.......
....apologies.....my bad...Adrenacaine was already listed in the quote....ALONG with sedation!
It makes the job easier for them, as well as less stress for calves, wake up half an hour later with no idea what’s happened with Metacam kicking in - not necessary but better I’d say.Adrenacaine was already listed in the quote....ALONG with sedation!
Where are you based ? What area do you cover ?Would there be much interest in a dehorning/disbudding service?
Covering both young calves and removing horns off larger cattle.
Based in NI
our vets charge £6, including everything, lad that came in the lockdown, didn't want any help, dehorning/budding is one of those jobs that keep get putting off. £6, magic!
just started vac calves v IBR, timing is best done between 7 and 13 days, so x1 week.Do you use their vaccination service as well?
