sunday

brain was addled sat night...no change there then 😁 .....anyhoo i went to bed early then awoke early hours:rolleyes:,,,nil desperandum spinny i'll do some vat(y)...2 hours later i'd had enough and retired to the sofa so as not to disturb mrs spin,,,,just nodding back off to sleep about 5am when a knock came on the door:oops:.....switched porch light on a peered outta side window....it was an elderly neighbour from up the road....poor lass is occasional dementia sufferer:(....there she was wandering around with a bag with new shoes in it,,,,, got disorientated and come to us cos we'd got lights on due to my nocturnal meanderings.....mrs spin sorted her while i got car then popped her home....her husband was then off looking for her

overslept and was late to farm .....as a result i was up there most of the morning with the chores....the admiral's rayburn had run outta gas,,,,,now normally she's very punctilious about ordering but when i went outside all 3 cylinders were empty:banghead:

finally home mrs spin needed a new light fixed over her sewing table......i tried to do it quickly by kneeling on said table but it was just the wrong height.....ended getting step ladder /moving stuff and job took twice as long....i never feckin learn:banghead:

all in all not the most restful day so i went to bed early:rolleyes:

monday

guess what:banghead::banghead:......woke up in early hours again😭😭.......did the vat to nearly finish:rolleyes:....bit jaded for resta day though:rolleyes:

needed gas cylinder for admiral and a quick google revealed earnest doe do them:oops:....phone call to confirm(y)

all the sheep pens needed good fettlin which is K's job but i still needed forklift straw about.....pushed up horse muck but whilst 'in progress' some white sheep appeared in yard....at first i thought it was some snot + ignored.....then glanced again...'FECK IT'S THE RAMS':oops: .....puffa+ mcnabs leading...percy+ puppydog more wary.....the aforementioned pair just deciding on whether to turn left to come and see me or 'straight on' following the alluring odour they musta been detecting from main flock:rolleyes:......a bucket of feed makes their mind up in my favour:rolleyes:

sheep done it's off to naam....dead beltex tup to take in...slightly 'ripe'😗:bag: and hopefully get a gas cylinder.....mission accomplished the chap at doe's complimenting me on my organised manner cos i had sack barrow and ratchet strap to secure cylinder in livestock trailer....i told him not to expect me to make a 'habit of it'😁

back home rayburn relit...late lunch

short afternoon...... chores domestic and farm only.....getting little stressed about compiling yr end books but really tired:( ...I KNOW💡,,,,i'll have an 'early night'

a bit ...meh  TBH......put the new pasture topper on....adjusted the skids lower and mowed coupla horse paddocks.....rest pretty usual.....bit fed up/tired/grumpy.....watched 'plf' on ifollow that was entertaining😁

wednesday

felt better today....don't know why....all the things that've been getting me down still there but somehow didn't bother as much:scratchhead:

bitta rush round first thing cos we finally got the haulier to bring ice cream van home.....that was due late morning and i wanted to get the stalag ewes back to farm then be at home when haulier rang

backed first trailer of ewes onto paddock next the stubble turnips....returned with second to find yard full of ewes...b'startds had gone onto stubble turnips....rounded up a sizeable posse then carried on round to the grass fields...found an open hurdle😗 .....and streamed home past the grain store:banghead:....i drove up the yard honking the vans horn ....they turned tail and fled back down the field😁

back home 11am i did a little bookwork til noon when phone goes.....mrs spin answers...chat....put's phone down and says ..'right..that was the driver ....as soon as he's finished his tacos he's setting off'.....me:scratchhead:.....'thats what he said' mrs spin sure 'he said he was on his tacho break then he'll set off'😁😁

off we go.....meet driver.....i ascertain he was not eating tacos (he had cold pizza in his pack up:wtf:)........i drive ice cream van on....little 'hairy' as she grounded a little bit on ramp:oops:.......anyhoo we're taking it back to a barn at fil's and i speculate out loud....'what if the petrol tank ruptures as i unload and the van explodes......fancy being killed in an exploding ice cream van:oops:'...........after bit though i think 'OK bit before me time BUT there are worse ways to go.....imagine in years to come...ppl would say 'remember old spin cycle ?he died in an ice cream van explosion....they found his '99' two hundred yards away'😁😁

You'd think the ice cream would cancel out an explosion, wouldn't you 🤔

bit behind....not feeling very 'creative' :scratchhead: ....either that or it's being 'channeled' into 'end of yr' preparations:rolleyes:

thursday.....got some store lambs onto last bit of fresh grass

friday......finished/submitted second vat period

saturday.....weighed housed ram lambs ....they're standing still a little......could be i'm being lax with afternoon feed or they might need worming cos i didn't do it when they came in.....TBH it's a bit of the former cos subconscoisly (feck i can't spell) i don't wanna be worrying about getting lambs in whilst trying to concentrate on yr end:rolleyes:.......i know it's counter productive but sometimes i have to accept an inefficiency to get thru:rolleyes:

afternoon had a good session on books.....city draw........mrs spin went out with some old school mums leaving boy, cinders and i to 'bhuna'.....really 'pigged' out😗....fell asleep on sofa til mrs spin got back:bag:.....but 'refreshed' did coupla more 'booky' hours(y).....then gotta shock:oops:...my feed bill:oops:....i knew it was gonna be bad cos it covered period from before we were using home'n dry thru a winter i had little hay in stock.....but even feckin so:oops:.....i really darn't tell you how bad it was:bag:.......add in the other costs and ,suffice to say, all the effort put in no way justifys the paltry amount left:(.....i've been working on doing it better so hope for a better winter i suppose:scratchhead:

in 'other news' i'm on the trail off some fodder beet😭:bag:......in contact with chap from charlie and robbie country but moment i mentioned knowing them he stopped replying to my messages😁

I recon you went in too heavy handed and said as you know us can I have a 50% discount..........when my name is mentioned it's usually a 50% increase!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Anyway @spincycle, I was a little suprised to see no mention of you discussion from the other thread where you are questioning the viability of your seed!!!!!! Personally I'd say it's irrelevant as I recon the planting machinery packed up working years ago!🤪🤪🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
