Disco 4, Volvo XC90 or Skoda Kodiak

Those Audis are so modern they don't have indicators. Instead they just have special sensors: pull out in front of them and they stop dead. That is why Audi drivers are so brain-dead- the steering wheel is slowly carving a dent in their forehead which exact excessive squeal to a halt.
I’ll have you no I like my new Audi and I use the indicators you peasant

I would haggle hard on that, that would have to be a franchised dealer with warranty for that money, just changed ours this week,a few months older and a little more mls but full Lrsh, warranty and immaculate, ended up getting £16500 for it which was a couple of hundred quid more than we buy any car were offering, tried a good few dealers for our D5 and they were all offering between £15-16k for our trade in.

So you’ve sold a 4 year old discovery 4 with 45k ish miles on for £16,000? Or have I misunderstood?

I take it you have never driven a disco... if you would you would never willingly buy a shogun... as for reliability. My shogun spends more time in the garage then all of my 4 disco 4’s put together!

Had a D3, lovely to drive but, as your shogun spent all the time in the garage. D4's bad reviews put me off them and the D5's are bloody ugly. Plus car tax of £500 odd, compaired to £145 for the shogun is a bonus. More basic and less refined but still nice to drive.

Just my opinion. I acquired this as a company car from my predecessor...... I sometimes forget how bad the suspension is.. I then borrow the wife’s car (XC70) to pop into town. It’s like the council has resurfaced all the roads... the only thing the shogun is good at is off road. Put it in low 4wd and it locks the dif so you get at worst 3wd.... only been stuck once and that was in the mud with a triaxle trailer at a ploughing match. Honestly don’t buy one! I can’t wait till mine goes. Only 3 more months!!!!!!

Disco 4 10 reg 3 years and loadsa troubles
Disco 4 13 reg 4 years and some trouble
Disco 5. 17 reg 2 years so far and not much trouble at all, seems they have improved over time.
Worried the electrically deployed tow bar would not work but so far it’s very good. The offset number plate must be an acquired taste. I have not acquired it.
Definitely worth considering, but they are big and are never going to be cheap to run.
Our other vehicle is always a Volvo and they are very reliable and fault free in our experience.

I happened to see a Disco5 parked in town today with a centred rear number plate. Someone must be selling conversion kits.

What age is that? Brought an 09 swb commercial a couple years ago and love it, carrys tools securely, not too sore on diesel, reliable so far (had to put a track rod end on for not and it needed the manifold and egr de-clogging when it arrived), comfortable generally (wouldn't mind some lumbar adjustment on the seat for my slipped disc at the moment)
Can't say I'd have any concerns with getting a lwb for the missus if she wanted to change (qashqai at the moment but loves driving my truck)
