looking at some land and buildings the buildings are suitable for conversion to a 32000 hen shed they had 350 cows before do I need planning

Only if the original planning permission wasn't restricted to cattle?
We had a shed and the planners tried to restrict use to cattle and prevent use by pigs or intensive poultry.
That is correct, it would have to be a specific planning condition or legal agreement (S106) restricting the use to a specific line of agriculture.
Does it really matter? I'm not in any way trying to sound clever but what difference is it actually going to make

the planning was for a dairy complex plus slurry pit ,no restriction the planning does not say dairy only .We would not get planning for a new poultry shed in wales any more

Are you sure it’s a good idea. I fully get the planning aspect, but Everyone I have spoken to with a converted shed has complaints.
compared to the equipment the shed is cheap, and if you have a serviced site groundwork’s should be minimal and I would be tempted to demolish and build a specialised poultry shed.

the shed is the right length and width may be a little taller as a new 32000 bird shed all I need to do spray insulation
