Do we need Jeremy to lead us into battle on the media front ,and protests .Surely they wouldn’t lock him up.With all the protests in EU are UK farmers in the eyes of this goverment a push over,a happy content lot ,or simply what’s the use the goverment don’t listern ,don’t care and are too busy eating all their imported wine and food.Has PM really got a grip on what is happening in this country when one of his own minister resigned because he couldn’t pay his mortgage(£2k) on a £117k salary ,give me strength what the hell does he think a pensioner lives on or someone on basic pay never mind us farming lot.Wake up young ones it’s only going to get worse.

I see that farmer protests are continuing on the other side of the channel, not that you’d be aware of it via the media here.

We have a diverse farming community and a diverse range of grievances. It’s a real shame that our main agriculture-representing body rarely appears to want to stick up for the industry.

We could do with some other person or body to unify behind, seeing as how the NFU appears to be foursquare behind some of the issues we’d want to protest against (eg RT, GFC).

Not sure about Clarkson though. A marmite figure amongst farmers as well as the General Public.

The obvious choice is 'the black farmer'... untouchable and truly representative of UK ag', rural areas and the country as a whole - I know this must be true because this is what the BBC tells me is the reality in modern Britain. 😐

Like The Archers these days; an everyday story of farming folk except whenever I catch a bit these days every other person appears to be either gay, from an ethnic minority or vegan. Not like ‘round here at all.

Nor here, but clearly I am blind to all that - possibly am to the vegans, queers etc., but surely ethnic minorities aren't 'whiting up' to deceive me...?

But then, I have cultural and inherited prejudicial blindness - because when I read first hand descriptions from the past, or look at photographs, news footage or old paintings, I simply can't see all the black people I am told were there, unless, hang on...

I think the government must be pissing themselves laughing at the moment,UK farmers are doing FA about all the crap we are getting thrown at us,just bending over and taking it,farmers all round the world taking a stand,we seriously need some leadership in the ag sector or we may as well pack it in,it's getting embarrassing to be a uk farmer.

I think this thread is partly jumping for the easy "Mr Clarkson" as a shortcut in the hope he will save the industry.

Maybe some other questions might be more helpful...

1) What do we need?
2) What are we able to achieve ourselves as an industry?
3) Who can we ask for help that might be willing to help us?
4) Can we trust those people?
