I am thinking of getting another monitor to make it easier to work on one screen while keeping another page on view
How do I go about it ?

I run x 2 32" on my work pc - you will either need a second graphics card or have one that supports x2 monitors and has 2 connections (ideally HDMI)

other route is buy a splitter (Dell do one)

Running two 19" 4:3 monitors, and finding I am serious lacking display real-estate now. Just a lot more buttons on software nowadays.

Time for an upgrade..

Get 2 24 or even 27s
For work I run two 4k 27"s from two display ports on my laptop and keep the laptop screen as a third for my emails, calendar and softphone. Probably a bit overkill but I can have my CAD drawings on one screen with the pallettes and toolbars or reference documents on the other. All depends on what you need really. The 4k is a bit OTT but they were on offer!

Once you have worked with multiple monitors, you won't go back. The ability to read emails, PDFs or conduct research on the fly whilst working on a document is invaluable. Also the ability to cut and paste and move text from one document to another. I would happily run three 27 inch monitors if I had the desk space. When I revamp my study in future I will have a big curved desk and have the space to run a setup like that.

Check the back of your computer where the current monitor connects, with any luck you will have at least one extra interface which should look like one of these:

After that you just have to buy another monitor that supports the interface, plug it in and you're done.

Note what kind of cable the monitor is sold with, many monitors support 2 sometimes 3 different interfaces but they only give you one cable. Bit irritating to have just come home with a new monitor only to have to wait for a cable.

Once you've tried two screens you won't be able to go back, I'm currently up to four 27" screens and I'm starting to plan for another 2....
