I like the simplicity of box drills but I would have to be fully confident of reliable, predictable, metering .....on small seeds..I can imagine mice chewing the foam when drill not in use

Had a Bettinson TC4 drill with foam feed rollers - mice weren't a problem, but don't get diesel anywhere near them as they melt and go brittle. Can't get replacements now.Yes, really important to put the rodent powder in them!
Did it yield OK? We still have plenty to drill, don't know whether I dare push the 31st January safe sowing date.Looks good, we drilled some skyscraper last year on 31st Jan and it was ready about the same time as everything else 25th August
