The weather we need now is a cool/cold NW gale, which last 2 weeks or more, a still damp high pressure is no use at all.

Not sure about that, flat east, ok maybe, but if it got any north it in we are well and truly fecked.Or a good easterly

Have to put up with a few of these though
It ain’t going to look pretty!
But, at least it is in and has come up.
90mm or 900mm makes little difference, once the soil is at saturation it doesn't really get any wetter except for the wet spots that are not able to drain and become submerged. To try and be positive but I ve just walked the dog exactly the same route as Monday over stubbles,DTS drilled rape and lightly disced in sewage cake ex osr fields and the difference is night and day. Now I m not saying its dry or drill conditions but with only 30 hrs or so of dry ish weather ( we did have a couple 5 minute showers) there is still a bit of hope that we might be able to go next week. That's after 178 mm of rain since 22 nd September however the next 3 days are forcast wet .
