I am thinking about trying this too. The worry is that if the beans are large they won’t come out of the coulters. I imagine you would have to increase the fan speed too.

Is it possible t do so have drilled ours with tine drill but wondering if it would be better with vaderstad

Yes, drilled spring beans fine. Just be sure they flow out the coulters ok as when I tried winter beans they blocked and backed up twisting the drive shaft.

I failed miserably with a 3m box drill on Peas, can’t imagine Beans would be any easier. They either blocked against the metering wheels or backed up in the pipes. I was getting out every run to clear the blockages 🙈
Tried going 6kph and still wasn’t much better.

Get a drift key and ram it up the outlet to widen it. Keep these coulters for beans in the future as they will wear quicker.

I put a load of winters in about a month ago with mine and had no issue at all, fired them in a treat, not one blocked coulter, just cruised along at 12k. All up in row now.

What variety was that and what was the TGW? Smaller seed is easier. I’ve drilled Tundra for a neighbour and had no bother, though with a different drill.
