Better top link !Its not power I have a problem with although I only have 65hp. Its the tilting back on itself rather than ploughing into the hillside I am having difficulty with.

Better top link !
Hope this helps it supposed to have a dampener too which may not be working properlyIs that better top link on the tractor or link on the mower. There is some sort of damper on the mower that goes upto the top link that does not seem to be doing much. Local Claas dealer only wanted to sell me a new mower rather than sort my problem out.

We run ours in the 3rd position to prevent a dig in like bull holes etcI think the dampener is part of the problem. Tried to explain to the Claas parts department and they quoted 1250 pounds for it. I know Claas parts are expensive but thought that is definetly not right. Could you enlarge the little diagram as I dont have that on my mower I presume it has been painted over at some time.
A neighbour is mowing right now, with his old JF CMT 245. He's owned it from new and it's still immaculate.
Sorry trying to bring to life an old thread here. Can you take the conditioner off one of these and use as a topper? I suppose if you can the downside will be only one height of work....A neighbour is mowing right now, with his old JF CMT 245. He's owned it from new and it's still immaculate.

Sure can. If you can get the saucers off, you can fit spacers. Finding some spacers will be as easy as threading boiled spaghetti up a cat’s arse, so I’d recommend getting the cereal box out - make a stud pattern and cut out a set of your own from some plate steel.Sorry trying to bring to life an old thread here. Drove one for while and it did a nice job - pretty sure they were 7ft not 7ft 6 - 84ins…grey plastic cover not yellow like tge 67in model. It was a beast to lift on slopes, replaced with a Taarup 307 which was a beautBest mower ever on this farm was an MF 70 mower conditioner, 7ft 6" twin drum, driven by a Ford 5000. Steel tines on rubber mounts for the conditioner unit, doing a gear higher than our neighbours Kidd on a 7610 with similar crop. Or near neighbour with Vicon 8ft on a Case 1694.
Best conditioner on a mower within three parishes but one heavy implement to lift. Only say as I see................... Others will no doubt say different.
Don`t they make a job of topping ?Drums don’t like that.
