Drying out, again!

Well it's raining heavy in North west Carmarthenshire. No idea of mm in September, but (a lot) has fallen. Not many completely dry days. Dairy cows will be indoors from tonight on. Been a good stretch this year out at night on 28th April. And no silage fed since until bales go in tonight. So can't complain. Hopefully out by day until November. Plenty of grass at the moment.

I got a weather station on the 3rd of September. It has recorded 35.5 mm so far, and a neighbouring station had 1.5 mm for the first two days. Even though the volume hasnt been high, it seems that there have been only three dry days in September so far on this farm, including today. But the forecast gives rain for evening time, so I expect we'll strike today off. Tomorrow is to be damp too. So 2 dry out of 21. Maybe that gives some of you an idea why we might get frustrated with rain up north, as we patiently wait for a few dry days together to get on with something. August was a similar story, but I don't have any figures unfortunately.

Cows here in the NCE area, at the gate wanting to come in, no chance of that when i'm tanking dirty water.

Spoke a mate who farms the rest of the farm were you purchased some land and he was saying, you can see the rain clouds but never have any rain.

He’s got a lot more rain than home. Was there Tuesday and it was green!! I may have to move 150 ewes there to ease pressure at home come October.
