Ebay Scam

Folks

Distance buying is simple, if you buy a tractor , machine or what ever never pay more than a small deposit £100-200 to secure the purchase, then go and collect it , forget the BS "I dont have time" or "Its too far" , if that is the case then dont buy! or you will get fleeced , if the vendor wont accept these terms tell them to foxtrot oscar.
If you buy something too big to haul yourself then provisionally book a haulier local to the item and ask if you can leave it in their yard if you buy.
The only other safe way is to pay by credit (not debit) card but understandably most dealers dont like this as they get charged from around 1-3% to take the payment.

But if you really really want to lose your hard earned cash send it to me , I`ve got a holiday coming up :)

It's not all bad, bought this yesterday of eBay, advertised Saturday, phoned seller, quick chat, then searched him through Google, made decision, bought, with buy it now, paid £200 deposit, travelled 160 miles, viewed and collected, paid cash, everything legit, invoice, trailer conformity paper trail,
very genuine seller, both parties happy.
Even had a back load out of Lincolnshire.

From a neighbours experience, unless you have a court order, do not employ private collection firms. All the debtor has to do, if a ccj is not in place, is to claim the amount is disputed. The collection agency can do no more, and you end up paying them.

Agree absolutely, you need that CCJ and then get a HCEO to enforce it, don't even attempt to use a Court Baliff - chocolate BBQ comes to mind [emoji35] waste of space unless you are dealing with a 85 year old who couldn't pay the TV licence [emoji36]

Not really sure why you'd start a thread like this. I'm pretty sure 99.9% of people would know from the pictures, description and price that it's a scam. We're you really that naive to think you'd get a case mx in that condition for £5k?? Speechless.
