electricity renewal

We changed to British Gas in September as E-on were putting prices up massively. Now On a three year contract paying 19p and a standing charge of 30p. Thought I was doing well but the smart meter is too smart for its own good - had some big bills in November and December. Looking at batteries for our solar but doesn’t look promising. Seems daft we have this solar array which electricity is robbed from but we pay through the nose for it back.
Keep looking at the batteries, when i last looked they still worked out more expensive than buying electricity. But that was before all the rises we have had since, should be at least equal now (unless batteries have gone up massively )

I'm looking at quotes for a bigger solar system and a few batteries. Quite expensive but probably looking at a 6 to 7 yr payback if it all works out as it should.

That's on my current prices, I've got another meter up for renewal in a years time 😭.

In 7 years time will it all look cheep? Where's Mystic Meg when you need her

If prices fall in the mid term I bet you will be into single digit returns.

I honestly don’t think we are there yet.

I think A huge amount of money is about to get raked in by battery sellers off the back of this energy blip, with a huge number of disgruntled buyers in 3+ yrs time

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
