Lambed a ewe last night and the lamb, although very bright, seems unable to suck on the teat.I milked her out and tubed the lamb and repeated 3 hours later. The colostrum/milk was fine.Went to do it a third time and the milk was pink from,I assume,a little blood in it.The udder is soft and normal. Is this a problem and is it worth giving it an antibiotic? TIA

I had a ewe last year and her milk was coming out 100% blood, lambs off and she went down the road

Sounds like mastitis on the way. Or possibly your milking was a bit rough and burst some capillaries?
I'd jag and see aee what happens over the next day or two, if you have the time to supervise feeding. It might clear up and you'll saved yourself a lot of hassle with a pet lamb. Or not.

Only seen it once, where a Scottish bf had a bag dragging the ground and she banged her bag getting her into the quad trailer. I left the lambs on the ewe and the blood was coming through the lambs poo. Lambs were lifted after a day or two, they weren't doing and blood didn't clear up.
If I encountered it again I'd lift the lambs straight away and get them onto milk. Just my only experience.
