Excessive draw bar wear

We have excessive wear on both cultivator & crawler draw bar (see below). We are looking at something like photo below that fits on arms, or like a trailed Sumo three point linkage mounted ball type hitch, this would have added benefit of better turning circle without scuffing the tracks on the draw bar.Thoughts, suggestions, & possible suppliers appreciated.

How often did you grease it.

What is it your pulling .?

Swap to K80 ball hitch, I think this is what Clive does to pull drills etc? At least with a sealed top and ability to pump grease into it it should stay clean. Looks like you have to replace drawbar and the bit on the implement anyway so might as well switch to the ball.

Had exactly the same with various bits of trailed soil-engaging stuff over the years. Solo did it, discs did it. Could think of a few more I suspect.

JD hooks, in particular used to seem very very soft and would wear just the same.

If it had been greased every morning it would be as good as new , some lads don’t like dirtying their hards. Grease is actually very cheap. Use it.

Given the pressure on the draw bar, I couldn’t see the grease stay put for long & to get it where it’s needed would probably involve decoupling crawler & machine.

We do already have a Sumo “ball hitch headstock”, would be able to use on cultivator if fitted a cup I suppose. Would have to re jig hydraulic pipes & wouldn’t be able to run both machines at same time.
Other than Sumo - any other recommendations to make/supply & what about the lower linkage only type ??

Does that configuration make the machine easier to pull?
3 contact points and weight transfer better?
