I hate indoor lambing. Carrying the Iodine bottle at all times, one in each shed from tomorrow.

I would normally but I’ve about run out and didn’t want to give ewe lambs old meds if that makes sensei use betamox la for joint ill, it seems to get it after 1 or sometimes 2 jabs, bloody pain in ass is joint ill though

The ewes a big clumsy texel x I was wondering if she’s trampled them , they have had a good bottle so it’s in the lap of the gods now
Boss has just given them another top up from the bottle, they look bright and alert, hopefully time and care will bring them round

It’s strange how both have it after a day in the mothering pen yet the one I put on another ewe is fine ,I’m beginning to think the big daft ewe has stood on them@Wood field
Joint ill needs a penicillin based jab. I use trimox LA. Saved catching the buggers each day.
Give them a big dose but also 1ml of metacam
it certainly doesI would normally but I’ve about run out and didn’t want to give ewe lambs old meds if that makes sense
we had a bad outbreak a few years ago and vet said to give them betamox la, it certainly did trick. plenty of lime in pens since@Wood field

I’ve some ordinary betamox( not la) vet got it as pen& strep substitute, trouble is it’s been open a while ( like the loxicom) so I wouldn’t use it on a lambwe had a bad outbreak a few years ago and vet said to give them betamox la, it certainly did trick. plenty of lime in pens since
Don’t those numbers equate to you running at 244% live lambs on the ground? Or have I read it wrong?Just hit a 1/3 (450 ewes) of the way through lambing in first 5 days 1100 live lambs, it’s going ok some lambs a bit small (triplets and quads), some lacking a bit of milk or bad bags and having watery mouth in big twins , other than that it’s ok. Been kick out early because the weather is fine and loads of grass. View attachment 1171375Got 400 acres in the bottom like this, 200 that have been grazes hard by sheep in winter and 200 that’s been f**ked by polo ponies.
A lot of pets already and sent out only 10 Singles but 30 triplets.Don’t those numbers equate to you running at 244% live lambs on the ground? Or have I read it wrong?
