Out of interest @Roy,how much did the return plane ticket cost? $$$$$$$

I do know that flying to Melbourne ( 1000km from here ) one way had a similar carbon footprint to driving to Tamworth & back ( something we do reasonably often. Been there a bit lately with my wife getting eye surgery ) that is only about 80 km away . . .
Flying to Melbourne return would have a FAR LESS carbon footprint per person than if we were to drive there & back . . .

Let me guess??? Your going to see Collingwood play :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Haha
That would probably be the case with my first wife, thankfully this one is more interested in restaurants & shows :)
Being from northern NSW we are fairly unaware of AFL happenings. We were staying at Southbank. We went for a walk along the river to enjoy the drizzly rain & take in the sights. We settled in at a river side bar for a few drinkies & a late lunch before going to a show in the evening. Little did we realise we were walking distance from the MCG . . .
To make it worse - my wife made the naive mistake of wearing a black & white scarf , so she was worried about being sucked into the vortex of the “Pie’s” supporters :)
But nah - we had a great time drinking by the river & “people watching” for 3 or 4 hours, also enjoyed the rain & getting wet, before we escaped into a concert hall that evening

I was surprised to learn damsons are a fairly local thing, or the southern folks I was talking to were a bit dim because they’d never heard of them.

Plenty of damsons down here in Kent, enough in the freezer for crumble all winter.
It is true though that North Staffs/ Cheshire has more than its fair share, this goes back to the fact that they were harvested to be sold into Stoke and Manchester as a dye for pottery and textiles.

I remember being in Tamworth. It was fall and colourful and beautiful. Probably have great green photos somewhere. Sad to see it now compared to my memory.

It’s such a gorgeous town too, although the angle parking is weird.

There’s going to be a lot of damson wine here this year.:cool:o_O

I’m going to struggle to justify the carbon emissions from today’s journey.

Went for a 6 hour round trip to buy a stock ram.......yes 1.:bag:

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
