Friend has a Fendt 714 to sell. 2 owner, 13000 hours, 2001. Absolutely immaculate, never a problem. Still in original half worn tyres. Arable work only. Would anyone have a rough idea of value for private sale?

I'm sure it's a lovely tractor, certainly wouldn't let the hours put me off, but I would caution you to be mindful that the transmission is a potential liability in the near future.

All transmissions wear, but not all cost 10k to replace, so I would bare that in mind when you make an offer.

Yes the pre tms models will have less of an appeal in general so l would value it in early 20's. lt may be a peach of a Fendt but its still 20 years old, 13 thou on the clock and on original vario and perished tyres.
Tyres are excellent, as they weren't on most of the time on it's first farm. Mainly row crops for potato planting...
A dilemma with age. Yes, no tls, bit one less thing to go wrong. And no adblue...anyone know when hat came in on Fendts?

I think your right early 20's would be more like it. I'm not keen on the early favorit 700's. I think the sweet spot was mid 2000's models when they were still teir 2 engines but had tms and a few other goodies.

Ad blue wouldnt of been till early 2010's I think. Teir 3 engines werent introduced until around 2007 so tier 4 a bit after that.

Good tyres is a bonus so.
But the tms is a dealbreaker for me. The pre tms vario was great in its day but once used to tms it would be very hard to do without.(For me anyway)

Correction on the hours. It's 11300. Only done 1300 in the last 9 years..
Agree on the Deere. It will need new back tyres though...
Other dilemma. At least with the Deere anyone can jump on and give a hand. Not quite so with the Fendt...

It just goes to show, if you look after those vario,s there bullet proof, I would buy it to put on my straw blower, i find my mccormick to fast in low box, a vario would be the answer. no tms, would,t bother me to much as long as its not the front line tractor. £22 to £25k would be a fare price, there,s 15,000 hrs left in the old bus yet.

I dont think you know what tms is and are getting it confused with tls on a jd.

Tms has nothing to do with axel suspension. All 714's will have front axel suspension and cab suspension.

Tms is tractor management system and works inconjunction with the engine and vario gearbox. A 2001 714 will not have tms as it was not introduced until 2004.
