Looking to swap our spreader. KRM or Amazone.

Waiting for all the Vicon fans to come on here and educate you in the error of your ways :LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

My answer to your question is KRM. When I looked at Amazone there were just too many actuators and electric motors to go wrong.

Run a 2013 Amazone ZAM Profi hydraulic spreader had a couple of actuators in its time but it has done 60000ha and about 8000ton of product all at 36m odd bit of rust but will easily carry on for a lot longer yet

Anything but Amazone. KRM is the best of the 2.

Why are you not considering a KV/Vicon/Kubota? There's a reason they have so many fans. The easiest spreader to set I've ever had and does a great job.

Thanks for your replies. We run an Amazone now been a good spreader but do find variations in spread patterns even though we use best products and tray test regular. We ran a Vicon once and it did fall to peace’s. We did consider a Sulky but now they are tied up with Lemken we won’t be having one . Run a Sulky drill. Not products dealer the reason. We want to do variable rate P and K
So need all the toys fitted.

I thought the Sulky/Lemken tie up was just a badging exercise for Europe to give Lemken an entry into this market. I think Sulky spreaders are still available from sulky dealers.

Sounds like you need a KV GEO Spread in your life ?, iso-bus, section control, weigh cell, variable rate.
What more could you ask for?‍♂️, ask your dealer for a demo it’s an impressive bit of kit?

any recommendations for a reliable used spreader, that would have side limiter and would keep the rate along with speed. Think weight cells would be surplus on used machine and would give me troubles in the future. Btw, what is the real benefit of those?

Now using old Amazone ZAM, but pretty tiring to change side disc each field and really loosing output due to constant speed...

Of all the technology I use on my crops the weigh cells on the spreader is one I wouldn’t want to get rid of. It is so accurate, fill up, set rate and drive. There is no rate calibration to do which takes time,if the flow changes if it’s raining it adjusts for that. If I need to change rate between fields it takes seconds to change. Easy to work out what’s left so I don’t overfill for the last field. 1 button on the screen to press to change to headland spreading.

In these times of fertiliser being expensive and having to look a what we spread and reducing our impact on the environment I can see few reasons not to have weigh cells.

I use a KRM probably not very fashionable but a great machine
