Fertiliser spreaders

Of all the technology I use on my crops the weigh cells on the spreader is one I wouldn’t want to get rid of. It is so accurate, fill up, set rate and drive. There is no rate calibration to do which takes time,if the flow changes if it’s raining it adjusts for that. If I need to change rate between fields it takes seconds to change. Easy to work out what’s left so I don’t overfill for the last field. 1 button on the screen to press to change to headland spreading.

In these times of fertiliser being expensive and having to look a what we spread and reducing our impact on the environment I can see few reasons not to have weigh cells.

I use a KRM probably not very fashionable but a great machine

Absolutely spot on. I also run a KRM M2W. On my machine you can add section control to that list as well. Great machines, I’m on my second KRM (y)

KRM all the way here on second one and wouldn’t look anywhere else all the options you need / want dead simple to operate / maintain new ones better to wash and finally but equally as important a top notch firm to deal with should you need help or disaster strikes.

Agree re company back up. It’s a great feeling when you have a query pick up the phone and may end up speaking to Mr Rennie personally to help resolve any problem. Our local contact in SW is also a VERY helpful and pleasant man to deal with. Great service and back up from KRM

Before I waste anyone's time what sort of money is a fairly simple weigh cell machine for grassland? 3/4 bags is ample
You’d probably be lucky to get a new one under 10k, there’s not much ag machinery you can get for less than 10k now!
However there’s plenty of used ones from around 3k, it could be a gamble buying an older machine though as it who swaps a spreader unless it’s knackered?
