Fitting Concrete panels inside the rsj

Need to order some panels and need to fit them In between the web of the rsj instead of on the face of the rsj. The legs are already in place so can't drop them in from above. It's 20ft bays and the upright rsj is a 246 x 145

What's the best way to do this the panels are 150 mm thick and the bays are 6090 mm wide

Thanks

You need a panel 6015 long and put one end tight into web swing the other end in the wiggle it till you have an even amount of web on both sides

Thanks for that I'm just worried that there will be enough panel/steel left each side because the upright is only a 254 x146..

I fitted some 15ft 6" panels inside the webbing by cutting an inch off the panels with a saw then we cut half the front off one of the steels about 8ft off the ground then put the panel in and lowered then re welded the section back to the steel. We used a thin cutting disk and repainted after and can hardly tell its been cut. We done this to get a tighter fit as the steels were only 8x5 so wasn't enough room to get them in otherwise. Can take a photo if its any help.

should be ok if no massive load against them ,have done 3 buildings like that here as i wanted to use the steel on the inside to hang gates of ect i bolt 70 x70 angle up the front to cover the gap and don't want clips on the outside

Only problem I have with panels between the web is of you push on them hard enough the steel twists and panels pop out, not so much on a 254x146 but you get on a 203x133 and I've seen it happen but your angle iron idea will stop that a bit

only sheep and machinery shed 305x165 and 254x146 so should not be a problem was told 35mm bearing by a ACP is ok on 4" thick panels

We have done that on some sheds but have the panel inside the web to the inside of the shed. Leaves a neater finsh inside the shed and you can get a better hold behind the panel with a bolted in angle iron.

Do you really need to shorten the panel that much ?, the last 1 I did we didn't much off at all, we measured them across the diagonal somehow and they all fitted really snug.

If it's a 6096 bay on 246x145 you have 72.5mm to come off, half of web so that's 6023 then you have thickness of web to consider, 6mm I think, so half that, 6020 then you've your panel on an angle not jammed right in corner another 5mm for good luck 6015
