Fodder Beet

Evening all,
Looking into feeding and growing fodder beet. Will be wanting to grow the highest DM variety as possible. Couple of questions
How long will it keep in a pile in a shed ?
How late can i leave it in the ground ?
Does a fodder beet frost sheet help a lot ?

It's always a risk if you don't harvest before heavy frost , last winter losses were dreadul , this winter not at all bad
If its harvested early and stored in a shed it will keep a lot longer than beet that's had a touch of frost

we must have been unlucky, only grew it one year it was v poor. fosmya and blizzard this year and the blizzard,s been the best.

Fosmya looked great on paper for us last year but didn't handle frost ended up ploughing it in even lambs wouldn't graze it
