Topping a grazing paddock i thought i would just tidy up the rushes in the bottom of the field, just went for that extra 1 cut and then bugger :(
You would think i would keep away from that bit of the field having been stuck there half a dozen times with various tractors over the last 30 odd years.
One thing i have learnt is when in sh1t stop digging !
40 ft of chains and wire rope and a gentle tug from the Tw, and out she came without a drama (y)

.....and today, this...........

Load monitor was such a simple design and very effective especially with semi mounted ploughs. I remember during my apprenticeship carrying out PDI's on new Fords with load monitor. We used to drive down the yard, apply brakes and watch to see the hydraulic linkage raise up to check if it worked properly. When dyno testing we also used to press in the excess fuel button and watch the turbocharged tractors instantly gain an additional 35-40 hp. Same thing with a naturally asperated tractor only achieved around 5 hp increase...

+1 on the Load Monitor comment.
We didn't have anything with it on until we got a 7700 and by then the long, multi furrow conventional ploughs had been replaced by reversibles. We still found it good for ploughing though - especially on lighter land where top link sensing was not as sensitive.
Always thought the Dual Power/Load Monitor decal looked smart too..

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
