Fuel Card recommendations

We’ve had a couple of Fuel Genie cards for a few years to simplify accounting, or rather to save me chasing dear beloved for receipts constantly. Limited to Supermarket fuel, which hasn’t been an issue, and worked well.

However, in the quest for ‘progress’, they have changed the way they invoice so that you have to log onto an awful website toget weekly invoices, rather than just emailing me an invoice once a month. They have managed to turn a simple system into a ballache for no apparent reason, so I am looking for other options.

What cards are people using that they are happy with? Our monthly spend is normally around £600 on two cards, if it makes a difference.

We use Keyfuels through MVF and they invoice monthly. They send an email with a link to it to download.
Send a text every Friday with the price for the week - normally around 5p cheaper than garages around here, but only around 2p cheaper than supermarket fuel.

Is there a monthly charge for these fuel cards?

We use their basic Esso version for in the region of 50,000 litres / year- Fortnightly billing and a generally keen price, got down to 81.49 at its lowest - This week at 89.92 for derv.

Motorway Services are included for us and have been for the past 2 and a half years....

Also gets you 0.5 ppl Nectar points worth £250 per year .

Oh fuel cards........
I was promoted to running a small printing company a few years back; we had 3 vans, and 4 company cars on the books, all diesel, filled up using fuel cards, probably averaging 500 miles per week.
Something didn't seem right with the diesel costs.
With a little investigation, it transpired that the nearest motorway service fuel stop was included in the "averaging" of fuel price. This meant we were paying more than the alreay expensive local Texaco garage!
Having phoned and complained, the motorway service fuel stop was excluded from the calculation leading to a significant drop in diesl price........ for about 2 weeks!
Then they simply reintroduced the serivce station price again.
This went on for a month or 2, then realised it was easier without the fuel card

Got rid of mine just use business credit card . Kiss

I got rid of my business credit card in favour of the fuel card. HSBC charge a fortune for the convenience of a cc on a business account.?
Fuel card means that I get (or did get) one monthly VAT invoice fo4 all purchases from both card holders. It’s worked well tbh, but they’ve just made it a pita to access now.
