Fuel Tanks monitoring

ffs tis like the sweeny,

Sqirt is rocking on to seven and a half quid a gallon.
There are a lot of thieving scumbags out there and many otherwise straight citizens are getting desperate in these austere times.
Many tricks in every trade and anybody you may know who could look on the surface to be as straight as a die, could always be up for a bit more dosh for their recreation, in whatever form it may take. Or their kids could be in trouble for such things and the old man may have to comply to the orders of their suppliers.
Crime is every fekkin where and is not an exclusive occupation to our caravaning friends, whatever some may believe.

maybe way off the mark here, but you dont have a leak in the tank/pipe work do you, man i know thought someone was going with his heating oil, and after 12 months found a leak in pipe work, was dripping rather fast 24/7 lost alot of fuel over the year

start with a full tank dip it full then empty out 100l amounts and mark dipstick repeat till empty now use dip stick to measure the amount delivered

easiest way is to weigh in and weigh out if you have a weigh bridge
then weigh a tractor empty fill a measured amount and find the weight of a litre

if I had a weighbridge I would weigh all bulk delivery trucks in and out then all suppliers and drivers would know not to try it on

i know of a fuel monitoring system which gives you a graph showing you fuel useage and levels if it helps, you can remotely monitor via smartphone or just a computer etc. let me know if you need more info.

Had never thought about this before !

Everything will go over the weighbridge now

While on the subject anyone know of a good computer based fuel use monitoring software etc ?

Want to keep a buyer eye on our tractor fuel use and allocate better between harvest and establishment etc

If it has a way to record when individual machines fill up then I might be interested, I'm not so much interested in monitoring tank levels but more where it goes so I can allocate to enterprises and operations

I am not too sure, i know you can see how much goes into a tank and how much is used daily but i dont know if it will do that, il ask and let you know.

I thought that the meters at the filling station were alowed to be 2% out and the digital meters were so accurate that they could be programmed to be just short of that figure. I expect the lorry ones could be changed as well.

Our 'fuel station' came with a flow metre on the pump, can't have cost much. We don't use it unless some one wants an odd can for their quad bike or such. It would be quit easy to have a pad so that each time a vehicle was filled a note was made to say how much went into each machine.
