In the pit or just down on level concrete?
On the level if you can rock her, get a sheet or similar under her to act as a sledge, will slide easily if the floor is wet and there’s a bit of slurry for it to slide on.

Depends why she's down. If it's milk fever, treat her with everything, and let her sort herself out.

Same as above, sheet sledge worked well recently had one trapped under entrance railing (HB) (first time in 10 years) found strap around the chest could shift her front head round gently enough (couldn't get too it with handler so just three of us)

Sheets of reasonably thin ply, bung holes near the corner with the holesaw/shotgun so you can attach chains or straps

sometimes bale wraps are tough enough to help you shift her onto the boards, spreads the effort over more cow if she can't be rolled

then you can haul the boards with cow on, onto a pallet or similar to get her out

slings are good once you have clearance over her, but that's probably limited?

First milking. So could well have been MF. Gave her two bottles of calcium 50ml of phos and metacam. Left her 90mins.
luckily she was near the front of the parlour and managed to scrabble round the corner. Where we lifted her and put on the old calving pad.

If needs to come out backwards I use ratchet strap under front left shoulder over neck under right shoulder then cross it in the body and feed it under the opposite back leg and just bring them back bit by bit
wash down first then Chuck oil down

My first responce to a cow that is stugging to get up is always a bucket of coarse sand to increase grip and give her time.
Sometimes put shackels on while they are down.
Always have a dumpy bag of sand handy.

We did put some envirobed down. But I think your idea is better. I will get some.

Keep our 3rd lactation and up cows out of the parlour for an extra day now, and didn't have anything go down in the parlour or cubicle shed with milk fever during the housing period.

Our lady is 8th lactation and had a calcium boils post calving.

We have similar problem with our telehandler wont fit up one cubicle passage didnt realise when buying a 5 ton digger itd be perfect any bigger and wouldn't work but supriseing how far you can reach

Typical kiwi His response to the next question on how to dismantle a redundant parlor or remove a tree stump will involve Nitrogen, diesel and denotator cord... though he probably sill has a stash of explosives from when it was still legal in the 80s

I don't rate normal sand for grip at all, get some limestone grit, far better In my experience
