Glyphosate shortage

I don’t know what the situation is at the moment. Last month my usual supplier had some but told me that they couldn’t allocate any to me, obviously my annual business isn’t of significance to them.
Tried Zantra, who I hadn’t done any previous business with, and they had plenty.
:scratchhead: Not sure what happened to plenty, I can't get any off them

Bought a big set of heavy discs. They do a very good job of killing rubbish on stubbles in dry weather for very little diesel and create a bit of useful tilth for drilling at the same time.
Haven’t used any glyphosate at all this year. Couldn’t get any. There is always another way. They might find the market has shrunk considerably if they do get supplies going again. I for one won’t be buying much.

I have told a few farmers who had problems with horse tail the best way I get rid of it Cambridge roll first to break the stem as it is a very waxy plant and then the glyphosate works better.

it’s only opinion that it seems to work for me
Worked for us as well

My buying group has found some, but its not cheap and little prospect of any more till feb at least, luckily the bit I have coming today is enough to cover my needs for the few acres going into spring crops.

So is this glyphosate shortage caused by the lack of Eastern Europeans to slaughter the 'Glyphos'?

I'm presuming we have plenty of 'ates' penned up in lairages here in the UK just waiting for the former.

Just asking for a friend - only buy 20l every blue moon to spray round the yard here.
Raw ingredients not coming out of China. Flooding in phosphate mining area and various factory issues.

covid to blame, some of the ingredients required are industrial by product and with Chinas slow down in short supply

idiot remoaners will of course blame Brexit however 🤣🤣🤣

Boris has sorted the Visas for the Eastern Europeans to come over. However, only matter of days before we run out of CO2 again. Then we won't be able to stun the Glyhos and we'll be screwed again! Best order some fertiliser to stand any chance of getting Roundup

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
