Like I said, ( please read my posts again ) I am out of touch. And thank you for your honest actually costsAnd you think £40 hour is ok for drill , at 60k that drill needs to cover 4000 acres before it has paid it's way by then it will need a rebuild
I calculate my costs every year after i know all the costs.I do but always find it hard to get genuine cost per hour/acre figures . So interested to hear actual figures
I think these costs were formulated a few months ago before fuel doubled along with the ever increasing cost of machinery. Also cost of living is rising rapidly with food and electricity. I would be adding 10 to 15 % on those prices or else you maybe doing it at a loss.
I read your post and almost choked on my coffee at £40 per hourLike I said, ( please read my posts again ) I am out of touch. And thank you for your honest actually costs
Like I said, thank you. We pay good money to actually get on farm costs of machines . So the answer would be. £130 per hour ?I read your post and almost choked on my coffee at £40 per hour

The question begs, why do some charge that then!you really were out of touch with your £40 an hr, about 30 years!
How do you get to £720 per hr.I to cover the acres it would cover I would want £720 / hr to drill with a 12m avatar just to be running at NACC rates !
more usual to charge per acre but the above shows why downtime and logistics are so critical to get right
“ you already have the kit so it’s already paid for” is the crapiest of crap ways to run a busines, it’s doing someone a favour which is fine if you are a charitable sort but NEVER try justify that kind of logic as a business
local garage already have costs of their premis etc. covered …….. don’t see them offering to service my car for free though oddly
That's just the tractor. The question begs, why do some charge that then!
