Going rate - self employed operators

Just wondering what people pay for a skilled driver?
North Cambs based and need a bit of help on occasions and wonder what the going rate is.
Don’t need a spray man but someone that you’d call a skilled tractor driver for drilling and planting.

A good drillman/planter operator who can come with little notice and no major commitment would be a struggle to come across around here, possibly someone recently retired? Anyway if there good they have got to be worth at least £20/hr IMO

Doesn’t sound much considering the responsibility they get. I wouldn’t want to be charging less than £12-15hr. Once you pay tax and NIC at £10hr you’d be better off working in a supermarket.

Daft thing is a contactor would not charge much more to plough around here

Ive just been to a supermarket to pick up a couple of items, the chap on the door was very cheerful, the shelves had all the things I was looking for, the checkout girl was friendly, but I ended up with less money than I started with. Working there would seem an improvement.

rock up at work and moan about how much I hate the place in the isles with other staff members, could be worse. Get staff discount too, not all bad I guess.
Best I can offer myself is a bag of tates.

Heard of employed rates from £7-£12 within a 30 mile radius.

Part time and at beck and call earns a premium as no work to be found in slack times.

What’s the law as to self employed as to the minimum wage ???
Is there any come back as in the Uber court case??
