I'm looking for a set as I have a flight to NZ and back early next year and I can't sleep with lots of background noise.
Wired or wireless
Must be on ear not in ear
Will be used with iPod or iPhone
Budget max £200
Any ideas please?

I’m not into headphones, but my wife has been asking for a set of Bose over ear ones for a year or two, she tried a set on at the airport this June, again she said they are amazing, I’m just not sure on the budget as they seem to go from 150-300+ which is the same reason she’s still waiting!! I know I know, I’m being a tight arse. But any way she reckons she’s tried quite a few and the Bose are excellent.

I have some Bose 35s which are amazing, they work either wired or bluetooth and are rechargeable from the usb on most planes. I bought them after having a pair when I was upgraded to business and couldn’t believe the difference they made. The full price is more than your budget but there are always ex demo ones for less, mine cost under $200 from a Bose shop in the USA, I see there are some ex demo on eBay now for £160.

Not sure about the budget but Bose is where you need to be (y)

Bose QC35s. One of my best purchases in a good long while. Use them a lot in the tractor. They make it so much easier for the person on the other end of the line to hear what you're saying in a very noisy environment. Good battery life. Comfortable. Wireless is great. Definitely extend the budget.

Why not get a tractor with a cab?

I’ve heard good things about Bose too. They used to have a reputation for no treble or bass. I was disappointed with a pair of in ear headphones from them. Poor fit and no volume at all. I also have a Which subscription which will be well used.

Thanks for the tips so far. Keep them coming!

I'm not very informed on headphones so maybe I'm easily pleased. I think when I read up on the Bose ones before buying said that their sound quality was nothing special although not bad. Everything else is very good though I'd say.

I have the Sony WH-1000XM3 which are wonderful when launched they consistently out preformed the equivalent Bose in all reviews, now cheaper, a bargain. Oh, excellent battery life too!
saw these in costco at the weekend. they seemed excellent.
I have an older pair of Sony ones but they dont seem a patch on the ones in costco
Cost was £240 i think.
They appeared much better than the Bose ones for sale whihc were priced at £200
