Gps Pilot loosing signal

We have a Lexion 760 13 plate with Class Gps Pilot using egnos. It works really well when it is receiving satellite signal but when you turn at the end the grain tank seems to block the signal and it won’t work, worse with a full tank. Class say the receiver needs to be replaced with a more up to date one that would receive more satellites but comes at quiet a cost.Could we relocate the receiver on top of the grain tank to get a better signal or can we buy a non genuine receiver that would be compatible?

Do I understand right that it is your grain tank that partly blocks your receiver's sky-view? Very obvious that this signal loss would not occur if the receiver was placed higher. I wonder if it is easy to install securely. Does the receiver have tilt compensation? If yes, you would need to tell the receiver that the antenna has been placed higher.

If your current receiver works with the EGNOS correction signal, it only makes use of GPS satellites. Upgrading to RTK would enable many more satellites, e.g. from Glonass, Galileo and BeiDou. But the higher accuracy also makes the receiver more sensitive to trees and power-lines etc. EGNOS correction signal may be lost for quite some time without significant loss of receiver accuracy while RTK needs a reliable link that delivers the correction signal. Many aspects to consider in addition to the cost.
