Why is the grant scheme skewed in favour of the big boys .
Direct drill must be 6m or bigger then you can have a 27k handout.
What about those who only need a 3m or 4m. No grant for them .
Throw money at those that often could afford it without the grant yet the small guy who needs it more , can't get grant .

I think a big irony is many will not be used in a direct drill situation either.

I cannot believe the inflation of a Weaving sabre tine in 5 years.

The grants were there for 3m direct drills.
With or without fert application too
Not sure if there's going to be a second round yet
Think labour are having a sort out if it's acceptable

I can only assume you’re not in England? I don’t know what other countries have done but we’ve recently had this (closed now).

All the grant money offered just get "tacked" onto the original sale price, the only people who benefit are the manufacturers, despite the farmers feeling they do.
I mean £68k for a 3 meter drill, it's joke, anyone with a bit of nous could build their own for a lot less.
A friend I know spanked £60k on a 2nd hand 3m direct drill and lets just say he wished he hadn't!! I wonder what the trade in or sale price would be now for it.
I've still got a Massey direct drill in the shed from when it was "trendy" the first time
