Granulated lime versus ground limestone

Is burned lime worth the extra over normal calcium lime?
I have spread it, but funny enough after I told the chap I was working for I wanted double money to spread it we didn't do any more, horrible stuff works quick but don't last long, nearly twice the NV that the limestone we spread was but not worth twice the price

Well, I can tell you absolutely it IS that bad. I would think twice about doing it again if I were you.

I could take you to meet a blind old boy who lost his sight as a young lad by getting a bit in his eyes.

I'm not even sure you can get it in bulk these days. Good job too.

Those figures don't stack up any way. Use half the amount? Well, half of £55 is £27.50. Why would you use that against a good product for £21?

@ford4000 We get quite a bit of down time with the wind. Can see you've had to pick your time for 1 job, you can imagine how much fun that is with multiple jobs on a daily basis.

I took this vid last week. Thought a few reading this topic may be interested to see one thing that can contribute to a reduction in pH levels. If you're colour blind, might not be so interesting.

You really ought to stop drinking that imported Vodka Mounty!

As kids we used to spread it off carts with shovels , anything better than school , done it for days on end

I put two ton of ground lime on tested year later still 5.5 went straight back in with 2 ton burnt lime tested 6 moths latter 7.5 , I would used burt lime if it was 3 times the price , every farm used it down here never a problem, a lot of ground lime is shite
And yes I can get burnt lime but not quite sure if it's worth the £100 ton but you have to pay for quality don't you

It can take a couple of doses for very poor land to get right. Often had it here. When its got right, it usually stays right for a good while.
