I see in the Western Dailey Press this morning that Roger Evans has given Chris Packham a good roasting. About time too and a very sensible article.

Don,t get me started on Chris Packham, a dangerous person in my mind who wants to blame farmers for wildlife destruction, around here there are lots of small shoots that help feed the wildlife from game crops etc and the introduction of field margins and other cropping incentives, the last 10 to 15 years has seen a fast improvement in wildlife no,s. So Chris D head Packham. f off

Sorry, but that article is half witted.
I don’t think it is. It’s asking for a balanced argument. It’s asking why he only blames farmers for bird declines and not urban expansion, houses being built on green belt and in our area forests, and mountain bikers being allowed all over national parks.
My father has the same argument about birds of prey. I was with him recently and the conservationist told him “it’s nature” I said “how can it be nature when the predator is legally protected and in our area relocated from urban areas by “expert conservationists” and yet the little birds must fend for themselves.”
It’s political and it’s bullsh!t

The guy has no interest in the continuation of the human race. He would quite happily see the cessation of food production, quite literally a freak of nature, who has a platform to misinform the gullible.

Chris Packham is an egotistical green warrior who has no comprehension of nature or farming. He is clueless and is a danger to the counrtyside and the environment with no true understanding our wildlife. There are so many farmers and farmworkers who understand far more than Packham about what is going on in the countryside. He is influenced by politics, animal rights and has no true understanding of nature.Period.

Personal opinion that It is a responsibility to point out narcissistic traits bordering on psychopathic tendencies. These are closely related, with fuzzy borders, to Asberger’s Syndrome. On top of which should be added the ability to project this, his viewpoint and wishes through force of personality and image and convince others that they have the only true answer.

Such people tend to get ahead in life due to their overconfidence and ability to shrug off criticism and failure of argument and deed as being the invention of lesser mortals. Such people are often referred to as having the Dunning-Kruger effect or syndrome. Look it up.

They can be extremely dangerous, if not physically [which I would not discount when mixed with the other issues] but to everyone and everything around them. In this particular case both to the wildlife they claim to be a saviour of, but also to everything related to that subject.

They are not the ones you need to worry about. It's the ones that are obviously often not correct but insist that they are, that are ones you do need to watch, because they will drop everyone and everything in the sh!t even while insisting that it is your fault, not his [or hers, their own incompetence].

Personal opinion. Apart from Aspergers Syndrome, for which he is well known, I would strongly suggest Dunning Kruger Syndrome.
