Look for Merc lorry... you probably buy daf cheaper and they luk gd for there money.. but give a lot of trouble... man lorrys not as good as they used to be... Volvo and scania over priced.. scania probably hold there resale price better... try get lorry without Ad blue.. or dpf.. it gives a lot trouble...

New or used? Budget? Is it to be used every day or once a week? If its going to be used every day then think about going down the new route on a lease deal with all maintenance included, takes out all the headaches with breakdowns. If its second hand then find somebody local to you who can do all your repairs, and not a main dealer, seems at the minute around here that none of them have enough staff to be able to cover the workload they are under and from talking to the lads doing the job it ain't going to get any better.

Suggest a good poke around the internet's and be prepared to travel to view. Put a wanted ad on the various farming groups on fb.

I'd go with condition, quality of the conversion (racks etc ) and evidence of money spent rather than brand of the truck personnally.

Hello, nothing standard about a straw wagon,
Wheelbase ,
Axle weight
Bed length
Bed height ,
personally I'd avoid anything but Scania or volvo , a daf will do at a push but it's more about the local backup than the brand in my opinion
.
Find out what wagons your mechanic likes is a good start,
Ive got a 54 reg Scania for sale that I've owned for 9 years, Its mechanicaly 100% but looks a bit dog eared,
