We have 40 acres on the deck, which is actually surplus 2nd cut silage which won't fit in the clamp so will be made into hay - far more than we have ever had before. It will be fine for the dries and if we are short of grass next spring we buffer the lush grass with hay. We haven't actually cut our usual 12 acres of species rich meadow hay, we grazed them earlier as we were short of grass! . Neighbours across the river have hay down. Neighbour up the road has hay down. Smallholding in the village even nearer has hay down.
