Hello!
Has anyone had expierience with newer, high hour Fendts like 936? Seems to be selling for reasonable money.

Keep some money aside for an exchange vario, new turbo injectors etc and you might be ok. They’re built strong and if they’ve been looked after then why not.
The premium you pay for them new, if they can’t do 10k hours trouble free and 15k with a bit of looking after then the premium isn’t worth it is it.
The 2 939’s that I was on were little bother other than adblue sensors.

In my opinion the more expensive the tractors are new the more they cost when they go "bang" and they all go bang at some stage and with later model tractors in general they are far more sophisticated and cost more to maintain, a 936 replacement Vario
would cost , what 20k ? , an engine, as 900 Fendt engines have been known to explode, again guessing @ 25k +
I know of someone who got an invoice recently for over 20k for his 2400 hour Fendt 828 with engine problems admitted in the end it was reduced, I believe to about 11k by buying more Fendt's , not something I would want to do
Then there all the expensive sensors that also go wrong as hours increase so you could end up with an very expensive tractor,
As they say Buyer Beware ,

Gearbox will be no were near 20k , more like half of that
900 on the whole are bullet proof
we fine parts cheaper than the Red parts from the same company
never had a add blue sensor on any Fendt & have over 12, 000 hours on fendts now .
Buying any tractor over 10,000 hours & the fendt is the only one I would buy

I have a 04 716 with 19000 hours, bought with 10000ish on the clock. It has already had work done to the gearbox. It’s been a good machine it’s doing 1000 hours a year feeding the cows so not much heavy work.

A couple of years ago it had a sticking engine valve and we took the opportunity to go right through the engine while it was apart. Other than that it’s been wear and tear. The most annoying issue is the rubber hose for the fuel system, it deteriorates and usually that means it won’t start and can be a sod to get going. If I was buying any high hour Fendt again I would budget to change all this at some point. We have had other issues with the spools nothing serious with electrics, obviously it does not have the complexity of a newer machine.

I would buy a high hour Fendt again. I think history is much more important than anything else. My dealer knew what I wanted and we waited until he could find the right machine. This one will be changed at some point and I will probably do the same again.

Sorry I can’t give any advice on a 900. I have had a 720 and now a 724. Not changed an add blue sensor on either. I can remember one gearbox sensor on the 720 and a pto speed sensor on the 724

That's good to hear, personally we have had some dreadful experiences with add blu' on Fendt's and understand the "re gen"
filter is about 5k to replace with a new one ,
Fendt don’t make adblue sensors I think they are bosch. After 23000 hrs only had one go wrong, the pipe broke at the union. Most new dpf are around that money anyway.
