Interesting the 80 to 100 hp tractors on the carrots, today there would be 200 plus hp doing the same job, and costing 5 times as much.

1989 - Traded in all the smaller tractors for this lot - got a very good deal. Some of the front tyres look dirty - they were Hard Rock Rib which we transferred from the Leylands as we could no longer get them and they were the most puncture resistant on our flints.

You must have had some set back in the day quite impressive

I have to say this is now my first go-to thread on here. I never thought I'd say that over the Today at Work and Livestock pictures threads but this is such a treat to see every time I log on and I thank you for diligently posting and in date order

2006 We get our first Brown Swiss from the Brundish herd

and start to use calf hutches resulting in much healthier calves, almost eliminated pneumonia - no calves jabbed for two winters running.

We stuck 16000 hrs on a 956, engine never touched, one clutch. fantastic tractors.

i was just back from college...this sale was the talk of the district

2008 got a local contractor to put us some grain maize in under plastic - fantastic stuff but too much of the ag bag damaged by rats.

Beet harvest 2009. We used to share the 4 row Thyregod with our neighbour but as it got old, we reduced beet acreage just to feed the digester and cows, we bought him out and it now lives in the field. It is a bit too wide for our lanes, so there are very few ways of getting it to the field and back. However, it allows us to set our drill to give 3 beds of 4 rows, with gaps for drill tractor tyres between the beds.

2009 started growing maize without a contractor as the AD plant is being built and we are growing four times the area we did before

Got a maize header for our JF forager. not row independent so knocked a bit down on the headlands. Feeder chain wear was the biggest problem
