Hot tubs

I was working at some new holiday chalets and they had them, had a drain underneath and a hot water tap outside to refill between customers. I think it would draw people in, if we've gone to a hotel I've always used it.
At 10k plus at least 1k a year running I don’t think it would ever pay and just be a ball ache with air bnb as they are mainly short stay.

Slightly off topic, a few years ago when Hot tubs were new, I was at a new years eve party where the host had fired up the prized new posession. Some of the youngsters were having great fun and the host asked me if I would go with him and join them.
I looked at his 16 year old daughter and her school friends splashing away, and replied that I would love to but, for the fact that in the morning I would probably be down the nick and the divorce papers would be soon behind :):):)

You could always put it in if people asked, they came direct from jacuzzi the fitter said it was one they made for holiday homes but no idea how much they were.

£1k a year would sting a bit.

I dont get the attraction. Sitting in a bubble bath of chlorine then showering after? Wouldnt attact me to a property. Most people I know who have them dont use them the last one I saw was an unused one where someone had built the small conservatory extension around it. What a mistake-a to make-a. Prefer to see high quality fixtures and fittings.

The trick with any pool is keeping the chlorine at the right level. As organic matter enters from whatever source, skin, urine, faeces etc the level needs raising to counter it , this should then be filtered out.
I must confess I do not like small children in swim nappies, they do not hold anything in just disguise it, you know quick enough after they have been swimming if you don't boost the chlorine.
A certain level of chlorine 1-1.5 ppm is essential to prevent algal build up but the entry of organic matter will remove that very quickly. This level is unnoticeable to the swimmer. Most public pools keep it a fair bit higher
I noticed in Australia most pools ban young children from swimming and I have a lot of sympathy with that view!
