In 2015 we started Rabbiluscious with just two (2) rabbits. We started with this lovely Doe in the photo and a strong buck who is now deceased

This lovely Doe is still alive, well, healthy and very productive. I think she deserves a treat. What do you think?

Butcher was making rabbit and horse sausages,customer asked what was the ratio of rabbit to horse,he replied 50:50,one rabbit to one horse.....

It's been talked about here, fencing an acre or 2 around a big warren, rabbit and fox proof fence.

Kind of a low input meat supply.

Humans cannot exist on rabbit meat alone....

It depends on the breeding schedules. One Doe can produce 6 litters per year with an average of 8 kits. That is 48 rabbits/year. Those 48 rabbits are butchered at 3 months old with live weight of 6 lbs and dress out weight of about 3 lbs. Therefore that is 288 lbs of meat (live weight) or 144 lbs (dress out weight) per year.

Here’s a little of what we do,keep sheep and single suckled cows,one litter/calf per year.

Max we have in a litter is 4 lambs

Mothering up pens to help the ewe bond with the lambs.

I recall Joel Salatin (polyface farms) rabbit production when i visited, I questioned if there would be a uk market for it ............. to which he replied he exported to the UK !
